For those of you who choose for the full Programme and stay at the Abbey, you will be guests of the Benedictine Sisters of St Hildegard’s Abbey in Eibingen. Here, you may participate in certain of the monastic hours which punctuate the day. Your accommodation will include breakfast, midday and an evening meal. For this course, the Abbey has reserved eight single and two double rooms for 12 people. Total costs for the course and accommodation is €720 euro (single room) or €660 (double/twin room, sharing) with meals included. For participants opting only for teaching hours and who choose accommodation outside the monastery, e.g. at a hostel, a course fee of €400 applies.
We look forward to welcome you on Monday 8th at 12 pm and plan to finish up on Friday 12th after lunch. Teaching hours will be from 10am – 9.15pm daily in the rooms adjacent to the Pilgrim Church (Wallfahrtskirche) where Hildegard’s shrine is located. Group size is limited to between 10 – 20 participants.
Course materials such as copies of Hildegard’s original musical manuscripts as well as in modern notation will be provided. A tour to the atmospheric ruins of Disibodenberg monastery where St. Hildegard spent her formative years as a young anchorite is an optional and highly reccommended extra.
